IPWhat Is My IP Address?

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how WhatIsMyIP (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit whatismyipv4address.io (the “Site”). We have built this Site to respect your privacy: our core feature shows you your own IP address, and we do not run user accounts or sell personal data.

Information we process

To show your network details, your browser and our server process the following, in real time, for the purpose of displaying them back to you:

  • Your public IP address (IPv4 and/or IPv6) — shown on the page. We do not store or log your IP address on our servers.
  • Approximate location and ISP — derived from your IP address (city/region/country, internet provider).
  • Browser and device information — from your browser’s User-Agent string (browser name, operating system).

Third-party services that receive your IP address

Detecting your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses and looking up location/ISP requires sending your IP address to specialised third-party services. When you load the home page, your IP address may be processed by:

  • ipify (api.ipify.org, api6.ipify.org) — used to detect your IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.
  • ip-api.com — used to look up the geolocation and ISP associated with your IP address.

These providers receive your IP address solely to return the requested result. Please refer to their own privacy policies for how they handle data.

Cookies and advertising

We display advertising through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the Site. These tools set cookies and collect aggregated usage data (such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type) to help us improve the Site. For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

Your choices and rights

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of personalised ads using the links above. If you are in the EEA, UK or another region with applicable data protection laws (e.g. GDPR), you have rights to access, correct or erase your personal data. Because we do not store your IP address or maintain user profiles, most data is processed only transiently to render the page.

Children’s privacy

This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
